Photo Perfect Tutorial

This is my first tutorial and hoping to do many more. I enjoy creating things out of stuff I already have and just go along with it. I needed a photo from for my grandma as its her birthday the weekend so wanted to create something pretty and one of a kind.

  1. First you need to decide on a photo frame. Local £ stores or bargain shops tend to do some. I picked mine from the local home bargains for £1.50.

2.Choose what you want to put on your frame. I chose caleb and Esmae's name. Use plain paper to measure the size of the photo frame to get an accurate size for your design. Draw and cut out your design.

3. Arrange your letters to see if you need to alter the templates and if it looks ok.
4.Use your paper templates and place the wrong way around on the back of chosen fabric or material.
5. Cut out all your letters or templates.
6.Before gluing your fabric double check it fits on the frame and looks how you want it.

I cut some extra fabric to break away the space on the top and bottom wood. You could do hearts, stars or anything to complete the design.

7.Glue your fabric. I used pva glue but you could use any glue that will allow you to attach fabric to the wood. I used a paint brush to make sure all of the template was covered.

8. Once the glue is on the fabric stick to the wood and press down gently to put it into place.

9. I wanted to make sure everything was in place. Because pva glue dries clear I used the pain brush and covered the fabric and frame with the glue so nothing wood move of the frame once dried.

10. Pva glue is pretty quick drying but to make sure it was dry I left it for 2 hrs. Once you are happy with your design , choose your desired photo , place in the frame then show off your finished masterpiece :-)

Hope you have enjoyed the tutorial.Feel free to ask any questions.
