My baby boy is here!!!!

Ive really been slacking with my blog and really want to get back in to it.
Up until about 25/26 weeks baby was doing well size wise . My sugars weren't the best but I never had it high and it was majority in the range it should be.
I think from 28 weeks I started having scans every 4 weeks  and he was getting bigger. By 30 weeks his bigger was off the chart and estimated weight was going up quickly. At about 33/34 weeks I had been given my date to when I would go in. I was also being sterilised to as I was happy with 3 plus my health needs to improve as much as I love being pregnant .
I had to have steroids the night before to give his lungs a boost with all the fluid .
Tuesday was a busy day as my eldest was at school induction til 10:30. I was hoping I would be told to go in before thus so he wouldn't get upset but I had to wait till 11 ish. I had my first steroid at 12 and waited on the ward until I could go to maternity ward. This wasn't until 8 pm.
I had to have a cannula in my hand due to insulin drip and glucose one to . The mw was unable to do it so had to call dr . Dr came and wasn't gentle with it and there was blood everywhere . My skin was tough apparently :-( here's a photo .
My next steroid it was 1am ish and this is where it started to play up :-(
My sugars just didn't want to come down so the on call dr was called . Because my sugars weren't ok I was having to check every half hour . I think with knowing he was going to be born very soon tiredness hadn't come in to it at all .
I was getting worried that my section would be put back. I text my husband making sure the kids had gone to parents ok and now I knew the countdown was on. Luckily the time had gone pretty quick so before I knew it 8am was here and husband had arrived . Not long after he had we were taken to theatre and know there was no turning back. Our son was going to be here.
I went into the waiting room behind the theatre door. Lots of questions asked and procedures gone through. After about 9 I was in theatre , checks being done and husband kitted out in his lovely scrubs.
There was so many in theatre think about 10 was counted at one stage. I must admit throughout my 3 sections I cannot complain about the staff with reassurance and kindness .
It seemed to take forever till I was lying down and I never actually looked at the clock to see what the time was. At 09:53 a minute before caleb was born Cody George watts was born. Crying but with the usual fluid gargle . This is where I panicked thinking this is it , he's going straight up. Everything merged into one, I was still being sorted as this time I was being sterilised as well as being stitched up and sent the recovery room. After about 10 mins of Mw dealing with Cody , I finally managed to see him and even got to hold him. Not long after I was taken to the recovery room. Cody was placed on my chest and was allowed to feed. His sugars were checked and they were 2.7 I think I was panicking thinking that must be low but apparently this is ok for a baby. They allowed him to feed for a good while and left him to it. The Mw was not happy with the fluid and also re checked his sugars. Now 1.1 :-( . I was worried . This is where the dr was called and was decided he would go to neonatal, so all 3 babies on neonatal. This time luckily Cody was only on Hdu for a while and was just on fluids with sugar to balance his own sugars. He had relied on my sugars and was now on his own, it was so nice to see him without any ventilation tube , incubator and continuous bleeps.

Cody was moved to special care about a day and half later and just needed to keep milk down. On the Friday m husband and kids had visited and we had left Cody about 4. I remember my sugar dropping and the kids were getting bored so I told my husband it was best to leave. Luckily it was easier for him to go and me to just get in with the hypo . Before leaving Cody I asked what was happening and his last feed had been tube fed so was worried he would be pushed back.
Within 10 mins of husband leaving a knock was at my door. There was the neonatal nurse and Mw . I was a little shocked with it all. They explained that the dr was happy with his feeding and just needed 2  ore blood sugar checks and all would be ok . I was texting my husband and couldn't actually believe Cody was in the same room as me. I hadn't got a clue . What should do? Can I go to the toilet whilst he was in my room. So many questions and still in a confused state I just got on with it. We managed .
We managed to go home the following day . So glad we didn't spend forever in hospital .
Our family is complete :-)
Will update with everything .
