There was a 45 min wait after my appointment time and finally got seen at 11am . I was taken into a room and asked to remove my sock and shoe for the bad toe. After about 5 mins a dr came in and introduced himself. He was a young dr and very pleasant. The dr asked me what had happened and brief history. Turns out I've got to have my the toenail off all the big toe. :-(, I was expecting just a bit where the mark is. Sounds like it could be painful. The dr wants it done in 2weeks, he said because I'm fair skinned I have to be careful it's not cancer ( obviously I'm hoping it isn't ). It should be on a Tuesday or Wednesday which is lucky as husband can have kids while I have it done. If there's no space in my usual hospital then I will have to go to Birmingham which is a 30min train journey then a bus, fingers crossed it's at my usual hospital .
The dr wasn't 100% withy what it could be! with my diabetes he said it's even more of a risk as I have watch my feet. I'm not looking forward to the bandage afterwards as I'm sure I will need bigger or open toed shoes until the bandage is off. I don't want time off as I will feel bad if I do. The school will be fun if I need flip flops. Roll on 2 weeks .
